In the ice hockey town of Weißwasser/Upper Lusatia, anything is possible. The example of Sebastian Klenner clearly illustrates this. A few years ago, he left the town as a successful professional ice hockey player. Now, as a family doctor, he's returning. His heart still beats for his hometown and for the Lausitzer Füchse ice hockey team. That's why he was happy to become the face of a campaign launched by the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians of Saxony, the town of Weißwasser, and the EHC Lausitzer Füchse. By highlighting his enthusiasm specifically for the Lausitzer Füchse, the campaign aims to draw the attention of medical students and doctors in residency training to the Weißwasser region.

The Physicians' Network of Eastern Saxony is the sponsoring organization of the Eastern Saxony Postgraduate Training Network, which coordinates specialist training for young doctors in cooperation with hospitals and authorized training physicians. The Physicians' Network is committed to attracting doctors to the region and fostering collegial communication among physicians in Eastern Saxony. Network physicians pledge to provide comprehensive support to young doctors throughout their specialist training and until they decide to establish their own practice. They see this as an important contribution to maintaining medical care in Eastern Saxony.

"Together we are strong." Under this motto, the Nursing Training Network aims to ensure the provision of nursing care for residents in the Görlitz district. The network's primary goals are to advise and support providers of practical nursing training, thereby creating information and planning certainty for all potential training institutions and highlighting the attractiveness and career prospects of the nursing profession. This requires close networking and trusting cooperation between training institutions, vocational schools, and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, the training network seeks to increase public interest in nursing training through a variety of initiatives and activities.

The Hospital Academy is the central vocational school for medical professions in the Görlitz district. It offers up to 360 training positions, with programs starting in March and September. Students learn the theoretical foundations of the nursing profession. Close ties to training institutions and strong collaboration with various practical facilities ensure hands-on training. Trainees acquire practical skills and competencies in hospitals, outpatient and inpatient care facilities, and rehabilitation centers. The training contract is signed directly with the hospital or nursing home.
